Lemon Rasam
Lemon Rasam
Ingredients:-
• Tomato - 1 to 2 ( medium size, sliced )
• Toor dal (cooked) - 2 Tbsp
• Water - 2 cup (you can cook 2 to 3 tbsps of toor dal in 2 cups water and use the entire content for this rasam)
• Ginger (grated) - 1 tsp
• Green chilli (slit vertically) - 2 to 3
• Asafoetida powder - a pinch
• Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
• Lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
• Oil - 2 tsp
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Curry leaves / coriander leaves - few
How i made it :-
1. In a clay pot heat 1 tsp of oil. Splutter mustard seeds ,cumin seeds once the oil is hot, then add green chili,ginger,curry leaves & tomato.
2. Cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes start to become soft.
3. Then add the asafoetida pwr, turmeric pwr , cumin pwr & saute for a minute
4. Add the dal & water. continue to boil for 5 to 6 minutes
5. Keep the lemon juice ready & pour it over the rasam when it cools.
6. Adjust salt to taste..
Simple lemon rasam is ready
