Black beans thoran


Ingredients:-

• Black beans - 1/2 cup

• Coconut - 1/4 cup to 1/2

• Shallots - 4

• Green chilly - 3

• Garlic - 3 cloves

• Turmeric pdr - 1/2 tsp

• Pepper pdr - 1 tsp ( optional)

• Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp

• Curry leaves - 1 sprig

• Salt to taste

• Oil

Preparation :-

  1.  Soak beans for 30 to 45 min.Cook it & keep it aside.

  2. Grind together coconut, shallots, chilly, garlic & turmeric pdr for 1 min.

  3.  Heat oil in a pan & add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add sliced shallots &curry leaves.

  4.  When it turns brown, add the coconut mixture into it & saute it for few mins.

  5.  Finally add cooked beans & pepper pdr into it and mix well. Sprinkle little water and cover it. cook it for few more min.

Serve it hot with rice..Best with kanji...
