Tandoori chicken


Tandoori chicken


                                       
                                For marinating the tandoori chicken we need tandoori masala. So lets prepare tandoori masala first...

 Tandoori Masala Preparation ( You can also buy Tandoori masala packet )

 Ingredients :-

  •   Coriander Seeds - 4 tsp

  •   Cumin Seeds- 3 tsp

  •   Garlic(powder) - 4 tsp

  •   Red Chili Powder - 4 tsp

  •   Dry Ginger (ground) - 3 tsp

  •   Dry Mango Powder - 2 tsp

  •   Mint (dry powder) - 1 tsp

  •   Food Color (dry, red) - 3 tsp

  •   Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp

Preparation:-

  1.  Mix all the ingredients together and dry grind them
.
  2.  Store in airtight containers.

You can use this spice mix in various tandoori style dishes.

Chicken Preparation:

  •   Whole chicken - 1

  •   Tandoori masala - 2 & 1/2 Tbsp

  •   Lemon juice - 1 Tbsp

  •   Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp

  •   Pepper - 1 - 2 tsp

  •   Salt 2 taste

Preparation:

1. Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste, pepper, salt and lemon juice for 3 hrs.

2. Cook it in pressure cooker for 15 - 20 mnts. You may need the steel bowl which can be placed in the cooker to keep excess water out from the chicken.

3. Then marinate the chicken with tandoori masala.

4. Preheat the oven to 350 and cook the chicken in a baking pan for 10 mnts

5. Baste the chicken with some oil and cook the chicken in the oven until it becomes tender.

Serve hot with lime and onions.

Tandoori chicken is ready...
