Cabbage Dal Curry

Cabbage Dal Curry


• Chopped Cabbgae - 1 large cup

• Toor Daal - 3 tbsp

• Green Chilly - 4  nos

• Turmeric powder - 1/2  tsp

• Grated coconut - 1/2 cup 

• Garlic -2 nos

• Ginger - a small piece

• Cumin seed -1/2 tsp

• Salt to taste

For seasoning

• Coconut Oil- 1tbsp

• Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

• Corriander leaves -  few


1. Cook toor dal with water, one green chilly and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker for 3 - 4 whistle. 

2. Add chopped cabbage  along with salt and let it cook.

3. Grind coconut, garlic, ginger, green chillis and cumin seeds to a fine paste.

4. Add this paste to the cooked dal and  cabbage and let it boil. 

5. When it starts boiling, turn off the stove and add seasoning.

Simple cabbage dal curry is ready ..Serve it hot with rice or chapathi
